I want to hear others' opinions on this.  On the one hand, people say "you have to make the 'ask' explicit".  On the other hand, almost every trailer I have looked at just says at the end something like, "for more information, please contact so and so."

I haven't seen examples of ones that explicitly say (perhaps using a Voice Over) why the issue is urgent and important.  Is that because it would be overkill?  Or just because it's such a big process to make the trailer that people prefer to make a one-size-fits-all version?

Just thought I'd throw this out there rather than ruminating about it ... all by myself...

Hey Sarah, I think the "ask" or the reasons people should support the film are inherent in the trailer content and the way you've put it together. If the trailer is compelling, it speaks to those reasons, and you don't need to make a specific ask. You want to leave us wanting more however, and to get that, we know we have to support the film. And yes, it's too hard to make tons of different versions. I think you'll have a couple different lengths, but they should all be true to what the film is going to be. Those are my quick midnight thoughts!
