We are prepping to shoot for our new film, STILL DREAMING.  Hank will be traveling to NJ with our DP Shana Hagan at the beginning of August to begin filming!! The film is about another Shakespeare theatre program in a very unique place, with a very dynamic and intriguing group of people. We'll post more info after the shoot. Stay tuned!

I'm working on a series of micro-documentaries pertaining to local history.

History is all around us.  That shopping center over there?  It used to be a battle ground.  See that school?  It was a cold war missile base.  Look closely at that garage... it was once stables for an old horse racing track.... before that, it was a tollhouse for the first motor parkway!

My next three episodes are:

Mary's Grave: The Legend of the Lady in White

Benjamin Tallmadge and the Raid on the Manor of St. George

Under our Noses: Missle Bases in Suburbia

All in HD, and all by a guy who has no clue as to what he's doing.

The only way to get a clue is to do it! Your series idea is great. I am very intrigued!

Thanks.  It's been a long road so far, but a very exciting one.  I'm working in HD, and I've had to teach myself (or learn it through researching someone else's hard work) how to shoot, light, edit, etc...

Gathering information on the subjects at hand is a full time job.  Shooting, compiling, editing... each one is a job in and of itself.  I have no idea how you folks do it. (and how some do it so quickly!)

I'm in the early stages of filming a true story about a group of U.S. Naval Officers who left the military as conscientious objectors in 1970 and are having a reunion in the coming year. The film will focus on what made them decide that they couldn't participate in the war, what obstacles they faced, how they have changed in the intervening 40 years and the ways in which they are the same. The overarching goal of the film is to encourage a conversation about the use of force as a national policy, the practicality, the morality and what the alternatives are today.

I'm an American who has lived in Italy since 1988. I'm co-producing a documentary, "The Genius of a Place", that shows how a small town in Tuscany is trying to find a balance between economic development and conservation. The town where we are filming is Cortona, largely off the map until it became popularized by "Under the Tuscan Sun", a book written by Frances Mayes which became an international best-seller and turned sleepy little Cortona into a hot destination. We think that by telling the story of one place we are actually telling the story of many places, all seeking to develop while also maintaining their beauty and livability. We have a three-minute trailer and more information on our site www.thegeniusofaplace.com. We also have a Facebook page (surprise, surprise, called "The Genius of a Place") where we give little updates as we move toward completion of the film. We currently have about 35 minutes of edited footage and are aiming for a total of 90. We'll be applying to Sundance in September. Stay tuned! And cross your fingers for us, if you'd like to!

I'm workn' on "From Zimbabwe to Santa Fe," an hour doc about 3 rural Zimbabwean women who embark upon the wacky unpredictable journey to sell their handmade baskets in America. Right about now, I'd like to be with Sarah in Italy. Follow ZIM2sf's saga on "From Zimbabwe to Santa Fe's" facebook page, same name, and our website http://www.fromzimbabwetosantafe.com.

Hi Cristina, I looked at your website and watched your trailer, which I found delightful. It's just wonderful to see the human stories behind these traditional, hand-made products. I'll follow your guys progress and wish you the best of luck! Sarah

I've been working on Awaken the Dragon for the past 6 years and we are finally in the last phase of post-production! Our story: This year alone, over 1 million Americans will hear the words “you have cancer” for the first time. They will join the ranks of 11 million who have discovered the many challenges beyond mere survival. AWAKEN THE DRAGON explores how an ancient Chinese sport is enabling an unlikely crew to redefine what it means to be “sick” and how a cancer diagnosis can affect their lives. Through 3 years of nail-biting competition and intimate revelations 20 solitary paddlers transform into a single force of power and beauty. This is a story beyond survival…a story of reclaiming life…a story of awakening the dragon within. Our website: www.awakenthedragon.com Our new trailer: http://vimeo.com/channels/awakenthedragon Thanks for checking us out! Liz

Quick. quick. Working on MADARAKA AND JAFFAR CLIMB KILIMANJARO with the sons of Idi Amin and Julius Nyerere whose fathers fought a war in 1979. One father reviled, the other revered. The two talk of father son relationships and today's issues facing Africa as they climb this iconic African peak. CLIMATE WARRIOR, a film about climate scientist Stephen Schneider and the no holds barred battle over climate change. Looking for funds to do the editing. VANDANA SHIVA, a film about the Indian environmental activist.
